These paintings are created with acrylic paints, inks, pastels and charcoal, on stretched canvas, hardboard or paper. Generally I work on a dampened surface which allows the inks to spread - control of the ink is managed by tilting the working surface and by using brushes, scrapers and other mark makers. The transparency of the ink allows me to build up layers creating depth and mystery.
